Pair of Beans

First of all, I must apologize for not blogging in so long. We have been extremely busy making memories these past couple of months. After Dumpling Days, things got even more exciting. My brother got married! Not only did he get married but he had a destination wedding in Las Vegas, NV. This was an awesome celebration vacation for Mr. Lugnut and I. If you inquiry about stories, we'll tell you. All in all, it was extremely fun and a much needed break from the norm! When can I do that again?

Most importantly, I'd like to officially welcome my new sister-in-law and my brother to our nutty blog family. My brother, String Bean, is (finally) married to a wonderful woman, Kidney Bean (see proof to right). What a beautiful couple of newly weds, right? They make a perfect pair and we love them, oh, so much (xoxoxo). We are so lucky to have Kidney Bean added to our nutty family, she fits in so well!

Amongst all of our adventures the kids have been busy having fun being "kids." As you can tell by the pictures below. Walnut enjoys dressing up with Almond and Hazelnut. He is so so so GOOFY! I love how he knows how to have a good time and doesn't mind being a "princess" when needed. Mr. "T" (aka. Butternut) likes to make me laugh by making funny faces and silly smiles. I finally was able to 'catch' one without him turning away from the camera. Peanut has been working hard on standing still for longer moments plus adding 1 step or 2 into the mix. She is on her way to her walking milestone. Hazelnut, Almond, and Walnut enjoy doing headstands for Phy. Ed. class and whenever the weather is crummy. They are all having a blast being "silly."

That's all for now.....

Dumplings

Our entire family trekked through the snow on Saturday up to Genola, Minnesota for the annual Scholl family "Dumpling Day" extravaganza. We have never attended this special German heritage event in the past. The Scholl siblings put up a great feast. There was, of course, a LOT of dumplings along with other traditional German foods (sauerkraut, macaroni hot dishes, noodle salads, and an awesome array of desserts) to compliment the main attraction. I ventured out of my shell and tried my very first dumpling and ..... very last dumpling. I tried it that counts for something, right?

All the little nuts had a blast at the Dumpling Day event, too. The place where the event was held was not ideal for little ones to run about....but they still did. Peanut was very shy for the first 2 hours we were there. She clung to my arms for a majority of our 3 hour stay. The girls, Almond and Hazelnut had a good time playing with dolls, coloring, and playing hide-n-seek. Walnut was busy chasing his buddies, Nadaniel, Tyler, Jalen, and Butternut. At one point, a relative caught Butternut in the kitchen with a knife in each hand (thank you for finding him)!!! Where were his parents?? Aaahhh! Other that scary episode Butternut was just like his brother Walnut. They had fun playing hide-n-seek, drinking lots of juice, and eating desserts. None of our nuts even wanted to try the dumplings. I think that is because they got to have juice instead of milk!! What a treat.

Thank you Scholl siblings for the great time and hospitality! We were so glad we could see all that were able to attend since we missed the Scholl Christmas party in December.
